Its a stunning part of the world and incredibly peaceful too. Most of Bribie Island is National Park and camping sites include Poverty Creek Ocean Beach Lime Pocket Mission Point and Gallagher Point. Not my favourite spot honestly but easy to get to. One of our personal favourite campsites is including Amity Point but other campsites include Adder Rock Home Beach Adams Beach Bradburys Beach Flinders Beach Cylinder Beach and Main Beach. About halfway between Townsville and Cairns and on the way up to Cape Trib is the Mission Beach area. Inskip Point has beach camping and is accessible with a 2wd. These campsites are simply perfect for a beach camping trip however you will need a 4WD to access them and others are only accessible by boat. To take a 4WD onto Main and Flinders beaches you will need to purchase a Vehicle Access Permit. It will cost a bit more but Id recommend getting the ferry over to Straddie and camping at Cylinder Beach - far nicer spot and sealed roads and parking all the way.
