Grayland Beach State Park is a 412-acre year-round marine camping park with 7449 feet of spectacular ocean frontage in Southwest Washington. This is the closest campground to the ocean and it allows you to camp with your horses in Ocean City.

Assateagues wild horses are well known even to many people who have never been to the island. Assateagues Wild Horses. On the North Beach of Grays Harbor the Screamin Eagle Campground has both tent and RV camping. Imagine waking up at your campsite with wild horses grazing nearby.
The park offers more than 24 miles of wooded trails for hiking and horseback riding and the on-site equestrian campground has 11 horse campsites and 40 stalls.

We managed to find two nights in a row at the state park so thats what we booked. Camping at Alder Lake is split between four areas with nearly 175 sites available including tent camping full and partial RV hookups and designated group camping. The wild horses on Assateague are actually feral animals meaning that they are descendants of domestic animals that have reverted to a wild state. Some camping areas allow you to rent their horses to go off on your own or offer guided trail rides. Best known for its lakeside beach and golf course which has the hardest starting hole in Georgia Hard Labor Creek State Park is a local favorite for horseback riders too.
